A School Where Relationships Come First

A Message from Our PYP Coordinator and Deputy Head

At King’s College UK, Gurugram, we believe that children do not learn simply because they are instructed to, they learn when they feel seen, safe and connected.

Before any curriculum can truly come to life, there must be trust. Trust between child and teacher. Between school and family. Between each individual and the community they are part of. We therefore place relationships at the centre of everything we do.

In our classrooms, learning is not driven by pressure or performance alone. It grows out of curiosity, dialogue and purposeful inquiry. Children are encouraged to ask questions, to think deeply, to reflect on their understanding and to engage with different perspectives. In doing so, they begin to take increasing ownership of their learning.

We understand behaviour not simply as something to manage, but as a form of communication. Our approach supports children in developing self-awareness, recognising the impact of their actions and learning to make thoughtful, responsible choices. This requires time, consistency and a strong partnership with families, but it leads to meaningful and lasting growth.

Teachers at our school are not just instructors. They are attentive observers, skilled facilitators and strong role models. They create environments in which children feel confident to explore, take risks, collaborate with others and express themselves authentically.

Learning extends beyond the classroom. Through collaborative projects, engagement with the natural world and opportunities for reflection, children begin to understand their place within a wider, interconnected community and develop a growing sense of responsibility towards it.

We do not see education as preparation for a distant future.

We see it as something that happens now, in every interaction, every challenge and every moment of connection.

It is within these moments that children begin to discover who they are, what they value and how they can contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

We warmly invite you to visit our school and experience this for yourself.
