Position:

Middle Years French Teacher

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) French Teacher. The teacher will be responsible for developing students’ proficiency in the French language and appreciation of Francophone culture. The ideal candidate will foster inquiry-based learning, communication skills, and intercultural understanding in line with IB principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging French lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework.
• Develop students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in French.
• Incorporate cultural awareness and global perspectives into lessons.
• Use varied assessment strategies to track student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Design formative and summative assessments based on IB criteria.
• Support students in French-related projects, exhibitions, and presentations.
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress.
• Participate in student-led conferences, parent-teacher meetings, and school events.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and curriculum planning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and ensure inclusion.
• Participate in professional development workshops, IB training, and school initiatives.
• Adhere to school policies related to academic honesty, safeguarding, and code of conduct.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Teaching certification and at least 2 years of IB MYP or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong command of the French language (C1/C2 level preferred).
• Experience in teaching both language acquisition and literature desirable.
• Proficiency in integrating educational technology into language teaching.
