Position: Middle Years Individual & Societies (I&S) Teacher (2026 session)
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Individual & Societies Teacher to inspire students in the fields of history, geography, economics, civics, and global studies. The ideal candidate will cultivate inquiry-based learning and critical thinking, while connecting local and global perspectives to real-world contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons in accordance with the IB MYP framework.
- Develop students’ skills in research, analysis, problem-solving, and evidence-based argumentation.
- Encourage awareness of cultural, social, environmental, and political contexts.
- Integrate interdisciplinary links and global contexts into I&S teaching.
- Design formative and summative assessments based on IB criteria.
- Maintain accurate student records and provide timely feedback and progress reports.
- Guide students in projects, exhibitions, and experiential learning activities.
- Participate in student-led conferences, parent-teacher meetings, and school events.
- Collaborate with colleagues for cross-curricular planning and curriculum development.
- Ensure differentiation to meet diverse learning needs and inclusion standards.
- Engage in professional development, including IB workshops and internal PD sessions.
- Uphold school policies on academic integrity, child protection, and code of conduct.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Certified teacher with at least 2 years of IB MYP teaching experience (preferred).
- Strong subject knowledge in social sciences (history, geography, economics, civics, or related areas).
- Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
